A little about Casey-Lee and Live Love Nourish

Casey-Lee is a nutritionist, naturopath and recipe developer from Brisbane, Queensland. she is passionate about holistic health and wellness and via Live Love Nourish and hopes to educate and inspire others to love and nourish their body from the inside out to achieve health and happiness.

Live Love Nourish is a hub for healthy recipes and nutrition tips and shares my signature 8 week nutrition and lifestyle program.

What is your cooking style?

I cook very simple, real food recipes. All of the recipes featured on my website use accessible wholefood ingredients and are free from gluten, dairy and refined sugar. Many of my recipes also cater for special diets such as low FODMAP, Paleo, egg free and nut free.

Favourite Kitchen Essentials?

I can’t live without my high speed blender! I use it for so many things from homemade sauces, dips, cakes, smoothies, healthy ice cream and my sugar free banana bread (recipe below).

Favourite Recipe?

One of my favourite recipes is my sugar free banana bread. It’s so easy to make and uses just 6 simple ingredients. The recipe is free from gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts. Vegan friendly.

Sugar Free Banana Bread

 Recipe by nutritionist Casey-Lee Lyons from Live Love Nourish.


4 large over-ripe bananas (500g peeled), cut into pieces (+ 1 extra to decorate)

1/3 cup virgin coconut oil, melted

3/4 cup organic buckwheat flour*

3/4 cup organic desiccated coconut

2 tsp gluten free baking powder

1 tsp organic vanilla powder or vanilla essence


1.      Preheat fan-forced oven to 180°C.

2.      In a blender or food processor combine banana with coconut oil until smooth.

3.      In a mixing bowl combine buckwheat, desiccated coconut, baking powder and vanilla. Add pureed banana mixture and mix well.

4.      Pour batter into loaf tin, lined with baking paper.

5.      Bake in pre-heated oven for 55 minutes or until cooked through.

6.      Allow banana bread to cool before cutting.

Serve as is, warmed or with a spread of nut butter.
